A private Lowcountry estate in Georgetown, South Carolina, set beneath centuries-old live oaks and Spanish moss, with room for your closest people to stay all weekend. Here's what to know about Wicklow Hall, where the best photos happen, a real wedding we photographed there, and how our team plans a Wicklow Hall wedding day.
About Wicklow Hall for Weddings
Wicklow Hall is a boutique bed and breakfast at 91 Wicklow Hall Drive in Georgetown, South Carolina, on the Hammock Coast between Charleston and Georgetown. The 11-acre property is made up of a main inn, three cottages, sprawling gardens and private access to the Santee River, and it's been featured in Travel + Leisure, Garden & Gun and Southern Living.
Husband-and-wife owners David and Judith Rinella restored and run the estate. The grounds are full of live oaks, Spanish moss and gardens, with indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions.
Sarah and Markus said "I do" under the oaks at Wicklow Hall in September 2026, and you'll see their day further down this page.

Best Photo Spots at Wicklow Hall
Wicklow Hall gives us a different backdrop around every corner. These are the spots we'd plan your photos around.

The live oaks and Spanish moss
Centuries-old oaks draped in Spanish moss frame the whole property. They give soft, filtered shade for portraits and an unmistakably Lowcountry look in every photo.
The garden path
A brick path between clipped hedges leads through the gardens. It makes a beautiful setting for your entrance and for quiet portraits of the two of you.
The footbridges
Two white footbridges on the grounds are a sweet spot for a short walk together during portraits, with tall pines all around.
The inn and cottages
Classic shutters, lantern light and Spanish moss add Southern charm to getting-ready photos, family photos and your first steps toward the aisle.
The entrance
The Wicklow Hall sign at the entrance makes a classic first photo for your gallery, and a fun spot for a quick photo as you arrive or as you leave.
Timing and light
The oaks give lots of open shade, which helps in the middle of the day. For golden portraits, plan on 20 to 30 minutes with us in the hour before sunset.
Lowcountry summers are hot and humid, and afternoon storms can roll in fast. Build a little flexibility into your day, and ask the venue about its indoor spaces.
If you're staying on the property, plan to get ready in the bridal suite. Everything stays in one place, and your timeline stays relaxed.
A Real Wicklow Hall Wedding: Sarah & Markus
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Sarah and Markus said "I do" under the oaks at Wicklow Hall, surrounded by the people they love most. We photographed their day, with our lead Charleston photographer, Serg, behind the camera, and it was pure joy from start to finish.

Their ceremony was set on the lawn, with a white floral arch topped with soft pink pampas grass and greenery all around. Markus waited at the front in a cream suit and straw hat.
Sarah stepped out onto a brick garden path lined with clipped hedges and Spanish moss, all smiles, on her way to meet him. And one of the sweetest moments of the day: the littlest member of the wedding party, in a cream suit to match, walked the aisle hand in hand with Markus.

Planning a Wedding Weekend at Wicklow Hall
Wicklow Hall is made for a weekend, not just a day. With a full property rental, your closest people can stay on the property, and the whole celebration happens in one place.
That changes how a wedding day feels, and how it looks in photos. Getting ready, the ceremony and the reception all happen on one property, so there's less time in the car and more time for the moments that matter. Sarah and Markus filled their day with small, personal touches, from a welcome mirror on the lawn to custom koozies laid out for their guests.

Rooms for your closest people
Overnight space for up to 30 guests means your families and wedding party can wake up on the property and celebrate all weekend long.
A bridal suite with room to breathe
The marble bath, the fireplace and the full-length mirrors give us a beautiful space for getting-ready photos and film.
Hammock Coast adventures
The concierge team curates experiences on the coast, from private sunset sails to horseback riding on the beach, so your guests have plenty to enjoy between events.

How we plan a Wicklow Hall wedding day
Tell us early where you're getting ready and where your ceremony will be. We'll build your timeline around the light under the oaks.
Ask the venue about its indoor spaces in case of storms, and share both plans with us, so a change on the day feels easy.
Leave a few minutes for the grounds. A short walk to the footbridges or through the gardens gives you portraits that feel different from your ceremony spot.
Bring your invitation, rings, shoes and florals to the bridal suite, and we'll photograph them while you get ready.
Planning Your Photos and Film at Wicklow Hall
Plan around the light
Tell us your ceremony time early, and we'll help you place your portraits and your toasts so they land in the best light of the evening.
Ask about your guest count
The Wicklow Hall team can tell you which spaces fit your guest list and how to lay out your day, from the ceremony to the last dance.
Consider a first look
Whether it's with your partner or a parent, a first look takes pressure off your timeline and gives you a private moment before things get busy.
Photo and video as one team
When you book both, your photographer and videographer share one timeline and plan your day together, so you never have two crews working around each other.
