An open-air rooftop three stories above historic downtown Savannah, wrapped in brick, marble and olive trees, with the skyline as your backdrop. Vici Rooftop is made for couples who want an intimate celebration above the city. Here's what to know about the venue, where the best photos happen, what happens if it rains, and how our team plans a Vici Rooftop wedding day.

About Vici Rooftop for Weddings

Vici Rooftop is a rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar at 411 W Charlton Street in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. It's locally owned, independent and veteran operated, and it hosts private events, from rehearsal dinners and welcome parties to full rooftop buyouts.

The rooftop is an open-air deck wrapped in brick, marble and olive trees, with a marble bar, a banquette lounge and dining beneath a pergola. Exposed brick and warm lantern light set the mood once the sun goes down.

Brienna and Michael planned both their ceremony and their reception at Vici Rooftop. It rained on their wedding day, so the celebration moved inside, and you'll see how lovely it turned out further down this page.

Good to know before you book

  • Ceremony and reception in one place: there's no travel between locations, so your guests stay together from your vows to dinner to dancing.

  • An intimate rooftop: Vici is a small, open-air space, so it suits a smaller guest list. Ask the events team for the current guest count for your layout.

  • Food and drinks: the culinary team builds custom menus around your night, and the bar pours craft cocktails, wine and champagne for the toasts. Catering is offered through its preferred partner, The Bolton.

  • One point of contact at the venue: a dedicated Catering Event Manager handles your event details from the first conversation to last call.

Best Photo Spots at Vici Rooftop

When the weather cooperates, these are the rooftop spots we'd plan your portraits around.

The skyline

The view is the biggest reason to choose a rooftop. Plan your ceremony spot and your portraits with the Savannah skyline in mind, and it becomes the backdrop for your whole gallery and film.

The pergola

Dining beneath the pergola gives you a natural frame for portraits of the two of you and a lovely setting for your dinner.

The marble bar and the brick

Marble, exposed brick and olive trees add rich, warm texture to your portraits, and they suit both a light, romantic look and a darker, moodier one.

The banquette lounge

The lounge is a cozy spot for candid moments with your guests, and for the two of you to sit together and take it all in.

After dark

Once the sun sets, lantern light and the city lights below make for warm, glowing photos and film.

Timing and light

  • Rooftops get some of the best light in the city near sunset. Build your timeline around golden hour, and plan on 20 to 30 minutes of portraits with us in the hour before sunset.

  • As the light changes from afternoon to evening, the views change with it. That gives your film a natural arc from your vows to your last dance.

  • Savannah summers are warm, and storms can roll in fast. Build a little flexibility into your day, and read our rain plan below.

A Real Vici Rooftop Wedding: Brienna & Michael

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Brienna and Michael got married at Vici Rooftop, surrounded by the people they love most. We photographed and filmed their day. It rained, so everything moved inside, and their dark, moody, earthy style felt right at home among the brick, greenery and candlelight.

One of the most meaningful moments came before the ceremony: a first look between Brienna and her dad. It was a quiet, private moment in a day full of people, and it's some of the most emotional footage we captured.

Brienna and Michael also found a quiet corner of brick and tall windows to read their vows to each other, with downtown Savannah just outside the glass.

What If It Rains on Your Rooftop Day?

It's the question every rooftop couple asks. For Brienna and Michael, it wasn't a what-if. It rained on their wedding day, so the whole celebration moved inside, and it was still beautiful.

Instead of the skyline, they had glossy wood floors, tall windows full of soft light and a crystal chandelier above a greenery arch. Their sweetheart table sat against exposed brick between sheer drapes, and the buildings of downtown Savannah showed through the windows. Rainy-day light is soft and even, so their photos feel airy, calm and romantic.

The chandelier and the arch

Their ceremony was set beneath a crystal chandelier, with a greenery arch, candles and a round jute rug. It made a romantic focal point for the vows and for portraits afterward.

Exposed brick and tall, draped windows made a quiet corner for a private moment, with the city just outside.

The long aisle

Rows of cross-back chairs on wood floors gave Brienna a classic aisle to walk, with her bridesmaid carrying her veil behind her.

How we plan for rain

  • Ask Vici about its rain plan when you book. Its website notes that the rooftop is partially covered and that weather adjustments are made as needed.

  • Tell us both plans early. We build your timeline and shot list for the rooftop and for the rain plan, so a change on the day feels easy.

  • If the rain lets up, we can step outside for a few quick portraits. If it doesn't, window light and candlelight make indoor photos glow.

  • Pack a clear umbrella or two. They make sweet, playful portraits if you'd like to brave a few raindrops together.

Planning Your Photos and Film at Vici Rooftop

Plan around the light

Tell us your ceremony time early, and we'll help you place your portraits and your toasts so they land in the best light of the evening.

Ask about your date and hours

Vici serves dinner Wednesday through Saturday evenings and hosts private celebrations year-round. If your date or timing falls outside those evenings, ask the venue early and share the answer with us.

Consider a first look

Whether it's with your partner or a parent, a first look takes pressure off your timeline and gives you a private moment before things get busy.

Photo and video as one team

When you book both, your photographer and videographer share one timeline and plan your day together, so you never have two crews working around each other.

Your Savannah Photo and Video Team

Our lead Savannah photographer, Dalton, and videographer, Justin, cover Savannah and Hilton Head Island, so they know downtown and the best golden-hour spots. Every team member works by our signature creative process, The Stories and Stills Way, so your day is covered with the same care from start to finish.

Robb edits every photo personally, and our in-house team edits every film. You'll have one point of contact and your own client portal from your first message to your final gallery.
