Heartwood Acres sits on 15 acres in Eatonton, Georgia, near Lake Oconee, and on September 19, 2026, it was home to Emily and Landon's wedding. The whole day was pure joy, from a golden hour walk across the grounds to a dance floor that stayed full all night. We photographed and filmed their day, and their full highlight film is below.

A Heartwood Acres Wedding Near Lake Oconee
Heartwood Acres is a wedding and event venue at 333 Harmony Road in Eatonton. The venue describes itself as an hour from Atlanta and a short drive from Athens, Augusta, Milledgeville and Macon, which makes it an easy gathering point for families coming in from across Georgia.
The grounds pair a large open lawn with a 4,000 square foot, two-story, climate-controlled barn. Bistro lights hang over the lawn, and there is a private bridal suite and a groom's lounge for getting ready. For a photo and video team, that mix of open green space, wood fencing and soft evening light gives every part of the day a natural, Georgia countryside backdrop.
Golden Hour, Matching Hats and a Full Dance Floor
A few moments from Emily and Landon's day stand out in the film. The first is their golden hour walk. As the sun drops lower, the light across the Heartwood Acres lawn turns warm and soft, and a few quiet minutes away from the crowd gives a couple some of the most natural portraits and footage of the whole day.
The second is the matching "Cheers to the Roberts" hats, a fun detail that shows up again and again once the celebration gets going. Personal touches like this are what make a wedding film feel like yours and no one else's.
And then there is the dance floor, which stayed full all night. Reception energy is where a highlight film really comes alive, and Emily and Landon's guests made sure there was plenty of it.
Tips for Couples Considering Heartwood Acres
- Plan your timeline around golden hour. The open lawn and fence lines glow in late light. Leave 15 to 20 minutes for a sunset walk as a couple, the way Emily and Landon did.
- Use the bistro lights after dark. The lights over the lawn make a beautiful setting for evening portraits, toasts or a final dance outside.
- Know your rain plan. Heartwood Acres says most ceremonies happen outdoors, and its indoor space can host a ceremony of up to 175 guests if the weather turns. Talk through your options with the venue early so your timeline is ready either way.
- Get ready on site. With a bridal suite and a groom's lounge on the property, getting-ready photos and footage flow straight into the ceremony with no travel in between.
- Bring the vendors you love. The venue says it has no vendor restrictions and offers a recommended vendor list if you need ideas.
