When the coronavirus hit the businesses and livelihoods of the great people of Aiken, South Carolina, we wanted to use our capabilities to help boost morale. We decided to reach out to the Aiken Chamber of Commerce to see if we could lend our services. It didn’t take long before we came up with the idea to team up with other business leaders to create an Aiken Strong coronavirus inspirational video.
Within just a few hours of agreeing on the project idea, the Aiken Chamber had an entire lineup of businesses and community leaders ready to film and share their words of encouragement. Thankfully, we didn’t have to create the schedule ;). We knew we didn’t want to simply throw a bunch of short interviews together and call it a day. Instead, Stories and Stills began the video by showing the realistic, sad effects of the virus. But just like we all have to stay positive in real life, the video quickly takes a turn for the brighter side of things.
There was a planned show of support by members of the community for the doctors and nurses of Aiken Regional Medical Center our first night of filming. So, armed with our drone and cameras, we set out for the hospital. We got lots of uplifting footage from the hospital parade, which made for an awesome start to the video. Up next were our long list of interviews.
All of the businesses and community leaders had great words for the residents of Aiken for our Aiken Strong video. To name a few, we interviewed representatives from real estate, restaurants, clothing stores, and media, which gave us a very well-rounded perspective. The response from the community was tremendous after the video was released. We heard so many awesome comments and truly feel like our Aiken Strong video made quite an impact. Which, after all, was exactly what we set out to do.
